Artist Statement
I document my life through my work, focusing around the flexibility of identity, public interaction, and responding to the special landscape of a given space or surface. I move through drawing, painting, video, sculpture, and sound, while the idea "neti neti" or "not this, not that," a Sanskrit expression for the sacred, is my great motivator. To help make sense of the vast terrain, my work extends out in conceptual branches, separating into distinct projects. Several include: The Give Away Project, the Sound wave Project, The Tattoo Project, The Tipi Project, and the Blues Mandolin Project.
