Documentary can take many forms. It can be an outward extension of the world around you, an inward exploration of your own psyche, or some combination of both. i have participated in some unique experiences, and feel my purpose in being placed there is not only one of chance, but also of design--the chance of life going along as intended, as well as the design of my being able to see opportunities and act on them accordingly. In those environments, I have the privilege of being the stranger, observer, and participant. Whether I am entirely alone or surrounded by thousands, I am the stranger, not really belonging there, the observer who witnesses the experience, and a participant, discreetly and humbly reacting; an individual who "disrupts" life, ever so slightly with the camera's presence. My intention is to be as present as possible, observe closely and react to the environment and individuals that surrounds me, while learning about others and myself. My personal aim is to cultivate a pure intention and clear motivation, so that regardless of the final expression, something worthwhile can be achieved, not only to satisfy me, but also to share with others.
