Yippee. Summer's here, Island is open, beach is ready. In this time of global pandemic, deaths, racial injustice, demonstrations, and rioting there IS reason to celebrate.

I will paint every day a celebration that I wake up breathing. In a time of sadness and fear it is all the more important to bring cheer and gratitude for all that we DO have.

These banners painted on Hatteras Island are like beach blankets, or a reminder to raise the flags and kites and be grateful for the blessings we have.

Each painting was done in one day and the date completed also notes the number of deaths in the USA due to Covid 19. I wish to honor those who have died and to those who have suffered injustice.
