Artist Statement:
After living in Manhattan for 35 years and working on my Angels as Archetypes painting series, which I exhibited at Artspace in 2004, I moved to Provincetown. Once there, I took time out from painting to write. Upset about the 2016 elections, I found my way back to the brush and began these bird portraits. While not as intense as the Archetypal Angels had been, the birds are still observant guardians as well as messengers, and equally compelling.
