The Helena Davis features area-artist Melanie Kluender and her ambitious artistic project "The Year of the Snake." Kluender has created one observational work of art for each day of 2013, influenced by the Chinese calendar�s description of the Year of the Snake as "meant for steady progress and attention to detail." The mixed media works on paper will be displayed in a grid, with the dates of each work visible. Colorful, playful and confessional, the exhibition highlights her personal challenge to create art daily. Kluender is a recent Master of Interdisciplinary Studies Graduate from VCU and works as an arts educator in Hanover County.
