Lisa says of her show in the Helena Davis Gallery: "One of my greatest joys is sketching at various outdoor festivals.� The Richmond Folk Festival in Richmond Virginia has allowed me the freedom to continue to draw and capture the sights and sounds of this wonderful, exciting event.� When sketching and painting outside it is important to connect and feel ones environment. During these moments I feel free to draw the scenes that I view in my own unique way.� I have found that an audience will visually and mentally relate to an illustration or painting if they are able to connect my artistic images to their own personal experiences.� My visual creations become a part of theirs and� allow the viewer to make positive visual connections about this important musical folk event. My display describes a story that I want to share with all that view my work.� The best artists define their creations through their own passions which brings excitement to their work."
